The Literary Festival of the Livonian Museum, which took place for the 14th time this year, was a truly memorable event for literature lovers! The focus of the festival was on prose works published in recent years, where characters of Estonian origin adventure in distant parts of the world. Piret Jaaks’s “Daughters of Heaven”, Rein Raua’s “The Plague Train”, Urmas Vadi’s “The Other Side of the Moon” and Paavo Matsin’s novel “Death Cafe”, known throughout Europe, were thoroughly discussed at the festival. In addition, together with Epp Petrone, we peeked behind the scenes of the travel book phenomenon of the “Minu” series. MTÜ Satu Dialoog offered exotic dishes for several years in a row, the central library of Peipsiääre parish organized activities for children, there was an opportunity to go to a smoke sauna at the festival, and those who wished could camp. This whole special event took place within the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 additional program. We spent a nice day in the magical world of literature. We are already looking forward to next year!
